The 1st day of Dainichi Auction has ended successfully today with many hotly contested fishes. The main honour goes to Narita Ryuki san that won Special19 Male Dainichi Showa (see pic below) for a whopping record price for male!

Tomorrow is the 2nd Day & final day of the 19th Dainichi Auction, and on the list is 24 pieces of Special nisais, and bidding contest is expected to be even more intense as these are all females. Below we showcase these 24 pieces with videos for your pleasure and easy viewing.

Despite most seasoned koi hobbyists preferring female kois over male kois mainly for the reason of females’ ability to develop much fuller bodyshape and bigger size as comparing to males; Dainichi males have been proven time and again to have the potential to develop very good bodyshape and big size too. And there are growing select of koi hobbyists that develop interest for beautiful males as they believe have less health issues unlike females that may suffer egg impaction issues.
