It’s Momotaro Koi Farm Auction time tomorrow, and we at Marugen Koi Farm also like to join in the fun to pick some of our favourite kois. Will any of Momotaro auction koi claim the Most Expensive Auction Koi, only recently set by Sakai Fish Farm Auction 2013, for a beautiful Sakai Nisai Sanke, for an astronomical price of 21,000,000 Japanese Yen (equivalent to about Singapore Dollars $270,000 or Malaysian Ringgit RM685,000)? We will find out tomorrow!
Male Koi category:
We begin with the Momotaro Male Koi category, and especially like No.8 for its strong body conformation and nice beni patterns.
Oyagoi New Mako Kohaku:
Next we look at the offsprings of female oyagoi “New Mako Kohaku, and finds No. 31 to be the most appealing among many kohaku beauties.
Oyagoi American Dream:
In our opinion, Sanke No. 39 stands out immediately among its sisters from female parent fish “American Dream”. She is just so beautiful; lovely kohaku pattern, accompanied by well-placed Tsubo Sumi on snow white shiroji skin!
Oyagoi Thukithukemomoko:
Another easy choice, our clear favourite goes to No. 57. The round sumi patches is especially attractive!
Oyagoi Mako Showa:
This is a tough choice, as there are just so many beautiful showas to choose from. Narrowing down to two lovely Kindai Showas, No. 72 and No. 84, we decided to go for No. 72 as our favourite as she has very strong thick sumi. We continue to like No. 72 for its beautiful pattern, and feels that she has the potential to develop into a very beautiful showa, once her underlying sumi appears from under her snow white shiroji skin.
We first showcase the video clip of Momotaro Kindai Showa No. 84:
Next, we showcase our personal favourite, the video clip of Momotaro Kindai Showa No. 72:
Oyagoi Shiro Showa X Mako Showa:
In our opinion, the clear favourite goes to No. 97. Though she lacks in sumi placement for a showa, she compensates with her wonderfully simple yet beautiful 3-steps kohaku pattern, and very strong body conformation. Another future koi with loads of potential to develop further.
Marugen Koi Farm’s Favourite Momotaro Koi:
With so many beautiful Momotaro Gosanke koi fishes to choose from, in our opinion, the clear favourite goes to the Sanke No. 39. She is just so beautiful; lovely kohaku pattern, accompanied by well-placed Tsubo Sumi on snow white shiroji skin!
Will this beautiful Sanke No. 39 get top honours to become highest auction koi tomorrow at Mototaro Koi Farm? And more importantly, will she claim the Most Expensive Auction Koi, only recently set by Sakai Fish Farm Auction 2013, for a beautiful Sakai Nisai Sanke, for an astronomical price of 21,000,000 Japanese Yen (equivalent to about Singapore Dollars $270,000 or Malaysian Ringgit RM685,000)? We will find out very soon! =)
